For me the most important in a job is the job satisfaction, you need to love what you do because if you don’t then you won’t be happy when you will go to work and you won’t do your best at the time of working.
When I’m older I don’t know for sure what I want to be like, but I have a dream that I want to achieve that is working on the ONU or the European Union, maybe like a translator. This job requires a lot of foreign languages, speaking with fluency and also a being very efficient at work. A person that want this job needs’ to be very responsible and hard-working but also you need to love the job. I hope that I can achieve this dream and work there in the future.

I totally agree with you in the term that the most important think in a job is job satisfaction. As I said in my post, a job is a think you will do in your every day life, 5 days a week more or less 8 hours, so there is no way you can don't like what you do. You would be unhappy for half of your life.

In my point of view, job satisfaction is the most important thing when we are talking about our future job. We must love what we do because that’s what we are going to do during the rest of our life. Also, I think that the salary is a really important thing to have in mind when we are trying to find a job. Most people say: “It doesn’t matter how much you earn if you love what you do.” Well, I agree with this up to a point, but the salary is what determinates our way of life, and for a lot people not just their life if not their family life.
When I’m older I’d like to work in fashion mixed with business management. In my opinion, this job would require imagination and creativity, and also being very efficient at work and speaking different foreign languages. For working in this kind of business you must be hard-working, well organized and you must love what you do for trying to fulfill new challenges and ambitions.

I totally agree with you when you say that the most important thing is the job satisfaction and the salary. Having the two of them would be perfect but sometimes you can just have one of them. What would you chose?
I think we have similar ideas of how our future will be and which path we would like to chose, so I agree with you in everything you said, except the business one. I see your point, but I don't really know how this business thing works so I cannot give my opinion.

I belive job satisfaction is the most important thing in a job because you spend more than half of the week working. I don't thing living is wasting your life looking forward to the weekends and holidays, and if you're not satisfied with your job you won't reach happiness.
When I'm older I'd like to be a neurlogist. To achieve this workplace it is required to attend 6 years medical school and 2 years specialising.
Neurologists may work in hospitals, clinics or universities treating patients, conducting research or teaching students. They are experts at the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders, including stroke, dementia and neuromuscular diseases. As clinicians, neurologists examine patients and may order and interpret diagnostic tests in order to determine the best course of treatment. As researchers, they may participate in clinical studies and other research, or write articles for medical journals. This person needs to be aware of the possible problems that all the diagnosis can cause and accept the consequences.

I see your point when you say that job satisfaction is the most important thing, but I don't agree with you when you say that if you are not satisfied you won't reach hapiness. I think there are lots of people who can't reach their goals for many reasons and they are still happy. Sometimes you have to accept what you have and make the best of it. That way you will be happy cause you will see you have done something important with your way of life and job.
I think neurologist is a very important thing but unlike you it is impossible for me to be a neurologist. Opening brains and in general the body, makes me sick. But I think is great that there are people who can do it and can help others, this job is like being a hero so I hope you will be one and save people.

Marta, I quite agree with Anna that you can't reach happiness if you don't enjoy your job. It's true, many other things can make you happy, but working is a big part of our lives. Happiness is a state of feeling fulfilled, and if you're spending most of your time doing something boring, or stressful, or that just doesn't make you stay motvated it will be hard for you to feel complete! Although by saying this I don't mean that the more you enjoy your job, the happier you are. Being a workaholic is not nice either.

I totally agree when you say that if you don't enjoy doing your job you will never reach hapiness; that's one of the reasons why I'm scared of not making the right decision when I have to chose my future, it must be horrible working at something you hate every day of your life!
From my point of view being a doctor it's a really important and respectable job: you will be saving lifes every day! Despite of this I'm with Marta; I wouldn't be capable of opening bodies and it would be a huge reponsability if something happened to the patient!

I totally agree with you as I’ve been thinking to work as a doctor too. I see you have your ideas clearer than me, as I still have no idea about what kind of medicine job I’d like to be involved in, and the idea of being eight or ten years studying to end up in a job which I don’t like scares me, that’s why I think job satisfaction should be our main objective, rather than the money you can earn or the fame you can get.

In my opinion the most important is job satisfaction. You need to love what you do in life and be proud of yourself for doing so, but I also think that people sometimes have big dreams and they try hard to make them real but they do not reach them because they are not realistic. Sometimes you have to comfort with a job and make the best of it. I think is important to have security and stability beacuse you can be assured that you will have a job always and no matter how many times you fail you can try again. For me it is very important the salary, as is your life we are talking about. You may love what you do but if that job doesn't give you the security of having money and being able to support a family, you might need to look for a job that gives you enough money to give your children a better education and give yourself a better life.
When I'm older i don't know what to be. I don't have a clue. I know what I don't want to be, and that's a dentist or anything related with parts of your body. I also would be enable to work as a surgeon because i would faint just with the idea of opening a body. If I had to chose what to be now I would chose the path of publicty or something realted with social networks and maybe fashion. For being in this kind fo job you need to be sociable, responsible, perfectionist and you must be able to do lots of things at the same time. Is important to be quick and to have a very big imagination and I think I have few of those qualifications.

I agree with what you say: you have to aim high but also be realistic! Not all jobs are made for everyone. Although from my point of view security and stability are not that important; I prefer knowing you can be promoted than knowing I will never get fired. And about the salarty think I completely agree: you should love your job but if you can't take care of your children or give them food and education, I don't think you'll ever be happy!

From my point of view and agreeing with most of you the most important thing is job satisfaction; I also agree with Blanca, it's really important to be happy with your job but it's also great if this is reflected in your wages. I believe salary is an important point, as career growth; for me, it's essential being motivated and have challenges in your buissness (as knowing you can be promoted if you do a good job).
I don't exaclty know what I'm going to do in the future, but it's quite unlikely I do something related with salary. I would love doing Maketing, Law or Journalism: In Marketing I thing the most important thing is imagination, and in Law expressing yourself and in Journalism the same. I know for sure I would like to travel a lot in my future job and I also would like using foreign languages for it.

annaga said

I totally agree with you on what you think about career growth because I believe we all need something to keep us motivated during our working years, otherwise it would end up being a routine which wouldn't give us the satisfaction that the job once gave us.
As for the future, everything seems really interesting. Having a voice in the world gives you the power to change it so whatever you end up choosing, you will definetely leave a mark.

I agree with you, Laura, with most of the things you said, except for giving so much importance to career growth; I see your point when you say it makes you stay motivated, but I think it really depends on the aims of the person and also the job we're talking about! If your goal is to be the boss of a company or an important politician, for example, I totally agree with you. But when it comes to me, directing others or owning a company is not something I'm really looking for. Although it's good too because probably getting a more imporant post will give you a higher salry, too!

In my opinion the most important thing you have to chase when looking for a job is to like it, enjoy what you do, which may not always be possible, but if you can choose between a well-paid job and the job you like you may choose the one you like, although this doesn’t mean you don’t have to mind about your salary, of course you have to, but it’s secondary. Another thing you shouldn’t do is to give up and take the first job offer you get, you have to dwell on to find the proper job, nevertheless, sometimes you have to make an effort and work in a job you don’t like to finally achieve the job you are actually looking for. Although I’m still not sure about what my job will be in the future, I have an idea. I’m between two different jobs, one related to medicine and the other related to engineering. I’d like to be a doctor, but sometimes I think about the fact of being in a small office doing the same thing every day and that scares me, I’d love to know everything what a doctor knows, to cure people but I’m afraid that after ten years of university I don’t get a job that I like, that’s why I’ve been thinking about working as an engineer. The only difference is that I only like one kind of engineering: aerospace, my dream has always been to go to the space, but it’s a bit hard isn’t it? This job is the kind of job you don’t mind how much you are paid for doing it, moreover, I wouldn’t mind not to be paid! As I ‘d love to fulfil my dream I will work so hard to try to achieve it, and if I ever have to have a bad job to ensure a better job in the future I will definitely do it. Someone who works as either engineer or a doctor needs to be either a prodigious man or to work so hard, so I know what I have to do: work as there would not be a tomorrow.

In my opinion job satisfaction is the most essential thing in a job because if we are not satisfied with our job we won't do it well, we wont be happy and that will also be reflïected in other facets of our lives.
Having a good salary is also important; when I am older I would like not to worry every month to pay my receipts and to be able to travel or do another activities.
for me, career growth is crucial for being satisfied with my job; I think that to work well we need to have objectives, will makes us having to work hard to reach them. I would love to be constantly challenged in my job and to be able to develope myself inevery job I may have.
I don't know yet what I am going to do in the future, but I have three main careers in which I am really interested: Buissness management, Fashion Design and Politics.
The three of them are very different but they seem very attractive to me. The forst one, because I've always knew that I don't want to work for someone all my life, I want to have my own buissness; for being able to have it, I will have to be very hard-working. The second, because since I was little I have found very interesting the fashion world and the creativity required for this job is something that I would like to challenge myself to; I think that despite I end up choosing another career, I'll still do something related to fashion, one of my passions. The third one is completely different to the first ones; I like it because I want to do something to help people, and make the world a "better place", I want to help people to have a better life. I don't see myself as a social worker or being in an ONG in Africa, but I do see my self in a Political Party standing for man's rights.

I believe job satisfaction is the most important thing to think about related to work. As many of my classmates have said, it's the key to stay motivated and do your best. Also, it is fundamental to enjoy something that will take up such a big part of your time.
In my opinion, anyway, it is also necessary to consider your salary/wages when chosing a job. Earning money is basically the reason why we work, right?
To my mind, the corporate culture is also something relevant. Many of my classmates probably won't think like me, but it's because in my case, for example, I'm completely against animal cruelty and I would never work for a company which supports that.
I don't exactly know what do I want to be when I'm older and neither what degree I'd like to study, but I know that I have good spacial/visual skills. Also, I'm interested on art and design. Jobs in which it is required to be a good drawer are, for example, architechture, industrial and graphic design... To work on those things you need to be patient, able to focus and able to stay for long by yourself. When I think of a job for me in the future, I just see myself wether in front of a computer or a paper in a sunny desk and creating something visually appealing (maybe a house, or a sofa, or a cartoon!).

From one side, I completely agree with you in the ideas of salary and job satisfaction when you talk about jobs. The salary makes you able to live well, without worrying and being able to travel and see the world, pay a good school for your kids and lots of stuff. But from the other side, even though I see your point, I do not put the corporate culture as a main thing to really consider because I thing it would be more important the career worth, as it is challenging and a way to keep motivated in your job.

From my point of view, the most important thing in a job is job satisfaction, you really need to love what you do because working is a thing you will do for more than half of your life and you need to enjoy it. There is no need to choose something you don't like or something you are not happy with, even though, you also need to consider terms like the career growth or the salary, which I believe they are important too, because thanks to the salary, you will be able to live in better conditions and the career growth is going to be challenging for you.
When I am older, I think I want to be a doctor, it would be really cool to be able to cure people. In my opinion it is a challenging job, in which you would be satisfied with, really happy and proud of myself.
There is a very different career I would also be interested in which is business or fashion business. I really like fashion and instead of having it like a hobby, like would be if I did medicine, it would be a constantly thing. This job is also challenging, like for example I could start in a business company and finish with my own company, I think I would be happy with and the salary wouldn't be bad.
I know I am between two very different ideas but I need to think well what I do before I really do it because, as I said, is the think I am going to do for more than half of my life and I really need to be happy about it!

From my point of view, the most important thing for a job is how suitable it is for you. I mean, the job should apply on you depending on your situation. That's why I understand that each of this things goes winning importance as we get older. For example, when a twenty years old search for a job, try's to find a job with satisfy himself. But, some years later, the need would be stronger than preference, that's why we'll probably search for a job with stability and a good pay. Even that, I'm not pesimistic. However, I really believe that the essential part is the satisfaction. Do what you want is key for a better result. That's why I want to be a writer. My dream is being at home, doing what I really love. Creating new worlds, new religions, new characters and new histories.

As everybody said, job satisfaction is the most important thing in a job, a least, for all of us. So letting this behind, I believe the second most important thing is the corporate culture. I have really clear ideas about what I reckon is right and what is not, so I couldn't work in a company where they buy stuff from chinese exploitation fabrics, for example. The rest of them: security, location, salary and career growth are more or less in the same level.

When I'm older, I'd like to be a publicist or a graphic designer. A part from this, I really like politics and a completely different thing: mountain, nature and adventure sports. So working for a while (when I'm still young) in a place where I could be in contact with the environment would be great: maybe in a ski slopes, maybe in a summer camp... I don't know yet.

On the other hand, for working in the advertising world, you have to be really imaginative, have original ideas and for sure, hard-work. As you can see, my future isn't really sure, but no matter what I'll do, I'll try to do my best and enjoy it!

From my point of view, the most important aspect is job satisfaction, because if you don't feel confortable with what you do, you can't do your best and you get tired of your job.
When I'm older I want to become an engineer because I have always liked how engineering works and I'm interested in how buildings are made. This job requires the following characteristics: being good at maths and sciences, being keen on computers and construccions. Taking into account all of this and what I like, I think I would be suitable for that job.
